GALA PROJECTIONS

Pathways | Original Digital Scenography
International City School of Ballet — Perdurantism
2026

Projection Design • 3D Motion Graphics
8K Stage Projection

  • Created for Pathways, an original contemporary work choreographed by Cammi Nevarez for International City School of Ballet’s Perdurantism Gala, this projection explored the unpredictable ways people, experiences, and moments shape the course of a life.

Inspired by the evening’s central theme of perdurantism — the philosophical idea that identity exists through continuous change over time — the visual design became a reflection of the invisible connections that define who we become.

Designed entirely in Blender, hundreds of individual glass elements move through space, crossing paths, colliding, separating, and transforming. Much like the people who enter our lives, these fragments intersect in ways that appear beautifully random — raising the question of whether these encounters are simply coincidence, or something closer to destiny.

Developed in close collaboration with the choreographer, the projection was created not as a traditional background, but as a living environment that evolved alongside the dancers. The constantly shifting digital landscape mirrored the choreography’s exploration of relationships, choices, and the pathways that connect one moment of life to the next.

Dance Is… | Global Voices Opening Sequence
2025

Role: Visual Design • Projection Design • Motion Graphics • Video Editing • Narrative Structure
Client: Youth America Grand Prix
Year: 2025
Format: Opening Projection Sequence / Live Event Visual Design

  • Created as an opening projection sequence for Youth America Grand Prix, this piece brought together the voices and faces of young dancers from around the world in a celebration of what dance represents across cultures, backgrounds, and generations.

Built around the evening’s theme, “Dance Is…,” the sequence featured nearly 200 young artists sharing their personal reflections on the meaning of dance. Through layered composition, timing, and motion design, individual stories were transformed into a collective visual narrative — showing the global community connected through a shared art form.

Working from the original creative concept provided by YAGP, I developed the complete visual execution of the piece: organizing extensive video submissions, designing the evolving mosaic of faces, and synchronizing the imagery with the spoken narrative to create an emotional introduction to the evening.

The final projection established the central message of the gala: that dance is not defined by one person, one place, or one story, but by the countless voices that continue to shape it.
