Grand Défilé: Over the Years | Legacy Documentary Film
Youth America Grand Prix
2025

Documentary Editing • Archival Storytelling • Motion Design

  • Created for Youth America Grand Prix, Grand Défilé: Over the Years celebrates one of the organization’s most iconic traditions — the breathtaking opening of the YAGP Gala, where hundreds of young dancers from around the world share the stage in a symbol of unity, artistry, and the next generation of ballet.

This documentary traces the history and evolution of the Grand Défilé through the voices of the artists, educators, and creators who helped shape it from its earliest beginnings into a signature moment recognized worldwide. The piece honors not only the scale of the production — including its recognition by Guinness World Records for the largest ensemble of ballet dancers en pointe — but also the generations of students who have stood together on stage before beginning their own artistic journeys.

Using decades of archival footage, interviews, and historical material, the film was crafted to capture the emotional legacy behind the tradition: thousands of young dancers, countless individual stories, and a shared moment that connects artists across cultures and generations.

Virtual International Competition | Digital Awards Experience
Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP)
2023

Broadcast Design • Motion Graphics • Virtual Event Production

  • Created for Youth America Grand Prix’s Virtual International Competition, this digital awards presentation transformed a global online competition into a polished broadcast experience accessible to dancers around the world.

Originally developed during the shift toward virtual events, the competition continued as part of YAGP’s commitment to expanding access for talented young artists who may not have the ability to travel to traditional semifinal locations. Dancers from countries around the world submitted filmed performances of their classical and contemporary work, which were evaluated remotely by an international panel of judges.

My role was to redesign and elevate the entire visual presentation of the event — creating a modern broadcast identity that reflected the prestige and global reputation of YAGP. This included developing the overall visual language, motion graphics package, awards presentation format, transitions, pacing, and integration of voiceover elements.

The design created for this project established a new digital framework for YAGP’s virtual programming and continued to serve as the foundation for future online presentations.

Beyond simply announcing results, the goal was to create a cinematic experience that celebrated young artists internationally and gave virtual competitors the same sense of recognition, excitement, and importance as a live event.

Success Stories | Donor Impact Campaign
Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP)
2024

Fundraising Film • Mission Storytelling • Development Campaign

  • Created for Youth America Grand Prix’s development initiatives, Success Stories was designed as a donor-focused campaign highlighting the personal journeys of artists whose lives and careers have been impacted through the organization.

Unlike a traditional promotional video, this project centered around human storytelling — transforming individual interviews, personal experiences, and archival material into an emotional narrative about opportunity, mentorship, and artistic growth.

Working from professionally captured interview footage and performance archives, I developed the complete visual presentation: shaping the narrative structure, selecting key moments, designing graphics, creating captions, and editing the final films to communicate the broader mission behind YAGP’s work.

The project required balancing authenticity and emotion with strategic messaging — creating content designed specifically for supporters, donors, and stakeholders who help make future opportunities possible for young artists around the world.

Reconnecting the Stage | YAGP Japan Awards Ceremony Film
Youth America Grand Prix Japan
2022

Editorial Design • Archival Storytelling • Event Media

  • Created for Youth America Grand Prix Japan’s first return to live competition following the interruption of the COVID era, this opening awards ceremony film served as both a celebration and a reconnection point for the Japanese ballet community.

After several years of limited international exchange and travel restrictions, the film was designed to bring audiences back into the larger world of YAGP — highlighting the performances, artists, and defining moments that took place globally while Japan’s live events were paused.

Working from extensive archival performance footage, I created a visual narrative that bridged the gap between past seasons and the return of live performance. The piece was carefully structured to honor the resilience of young dancers, reconnect audiences with the international YAGP community, and build anticipation before the awards ceremony.

The project required balancing historical documentation with emotional storytelling — transforming years of performances into a cohesive cinematic experience that reflected the excitement of returning to the stage.
